(Yicai) Sept. 11 -- Damon Technology Group, a Chinese manufacturer of smart conveyor systems, has won a USD40.9 million contract for an intelligent logistics project in Latin America.

Damon will provide cross-belt sorting systems and related services for a leading Latin American e-commerce site, the Shanghai-based firm announced yesterday. The project is in line with Damon's core business operations and represents a solid step forward in its global expansion strategy, it added.

With a portfolio of nearly 200 international clients, the successful execution of this contract is expected to positively impact the company's future business development and performance, Damon noted, without revealing any further details about the contract.

Founded in 2001, Damon is a leading Chinese smart logistics system solution provider. Its business scope encompasses core component manufacturing, software development, and system integration, which enables it to provide comprehensive intelligent conveying and sorting systems.

Damon serves clients engaged in eight major industries, including e-commerce, express delivery, and smart manufacturing, such as JD.Com, SF Express, and Alibaba Group Holding's Cainiao Smart Logistics Network.

Damon's shares [SHA: 688360] were trading down 3.1 percent at CNY23.29 (USD3.27) as of 10.30 a.m. in Shanghai today.
