(Yicai) Aug. 6 -- Gresgying Digital Energy Technology, a leading Chinese maker of electric vehicle chargers that forayed into the heavy-duty drone market through an asset acquisition last year, received a large order for heavy-duty drones.
Gresgying will provide 42 heavy-duty drones and related services to Xinjiang Commercial Logistics Group, which will form six logistics and emergency drone fleets and operational bases in as many cities in China’s western Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Shaanxi province-based supplier announced yesterday, without revealing the estimated procurement price.
Xinjiang Commercial Logistics will then integrate the drone bases into its existing logistics system to create a low-altitude logistics network covering the whole of Xinjiang, China’s largest provincial-level region by landmass, Gresgying noted.
The two companies will also collaborate on the construction of EV charging stations and the development of energy storage facilities attached to Xinjiang Commercial Logistics’ material distribution warehouses, as well as jointly explore deeper cooperation at the capital level at the appropriate time.
Xinjiang Commercial Logistics owns extensive logistics parks and transportation hubs in Xinjiang, and the partnership with the company can help to promote the application of Gresgying’s heavy-duty drones in emerging scenarios, such as material transportation, emergency logistics, and delivery to remote areas, and it is also supportive for the overall deployment of Gresgying’s EV charging stations and energy storage products in Xinjiang, Gresgying pointed out.
Gresgying entered the low-altitude drone business last year by acquiring a 57 percent stake in Zhongchuang Aviation Technology Zhejiang, a Chinese developer and manufacturer of heavy-duty unmanned helicopters. Its main drone model can carry payloads of up to 300 kilograms.
Gresgying’s shares [SHA: 600212] closed 0.3 percent down at CNY9.73 (USD1.35) in Shanghai today. The stock has gained about 30 percent since the beginning of June.
