(Yicai Global) April 26 -- Jiangnan Shipyard Group was to deliver the world’s first 93,000 cubic meter very large gas carrier today, the China State Shipbuilding-backed ship builder announced yesterday.

Jiangnan Shipyard has built the VLGC named Harzand for international liquefied gas trader and liquefied gas carrier owner Petredec.

The ship is a fourth-generation VLGC boutique Panda 93P independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard. It is 230 meters long and 36.6 meters wide with a service speed of 16.5 knots and cost over USD100 million, Yicai Global learned.

Jiangnan Shipyard has taken orders on 52 VLGCs since 2012, including 14 93,000 cbm VLGCs, and it boasts a global market share of 24.7 percent, the firm said.
