China's Top Economic Planner to Hear Private Firms’ Thinking at Regular Symposiums(Yicai Global) July 18 -- China’s economic planning department will continue holding regular symposiums with private entrepreneurs to create a sound business environment, according to an official.
The National Development and Reform Commission will arrange regular meetings with non-governmental companies to fully listen to their opinions and suggestions after setting up a related communication mechanism, Li Hui, deputy director of Department of National Economy at NDRC, said during a press conference today.
This month, the NDRC has held three symposiums with private firms including search engine operator Baidu, construction machinery giant Sany Group, and photovoltaic panel manufacturer Longi Green Energy Technology.
Through these events, the NDRC has listened to the development, difficulties, and suggestions of some private enterprise leaders, in accordance with the State Council's arrangements. The guest list has included big and small enterprises from different parts of the country, engaged in various industries, such as equipment manufacturing, steel smelting, textiles and garments, food processing, new energy, express delivery, internet services, and catering, Li added.
The NDRC will continue to listen to the specific demands of enterprises, addressing them accordingly, Li said. It will evaluate the effects of current policies in a timely manner and improve the country's macro policy measures as needed. Moreover, it will guide local government departments to work together to create a favorable environment for private enterprises.
