(Yicai) Jan. 18 -- Property developer China Vanke and Huawei Technologies have inked a deal to advance their partnership in the smart whole house home business.
Vanke and Huawei signed the agreement at a ceremony in Shenzhen on Jan. 16, the builder announced on WeChat the same day. Richard Yu, chief executive of Huawei’s consumer business group, and Yu Liang, chairman of Vanke, attended the ceremony.
The pair have been partners in the smart home arena for years, building projects in Shenzhen, their home city, Dongguan, Nanning, and other cities, Vanke said.
In deepening their relationship, Vanke will give full play to its advantages in constructing properties and prefabricated buildings while deeply integrating Huawei's smart WH home tech to apply the system in its residence, hotel, office building, and commercial projects, the firm added.
Vanke and Huawei will join hands in property management, smart device services, office building leases, commercial shopping center services, and long-term rental apartment services.
Last year, China’s smart home market grew 15.7 percent to CNY536 billion (USD74.9 billion), according to a report by TF Securities. The government began introducing policies to support the industry’s development in 2020.
According to industry insiders and end users, smart home products still have issues, including deficient intelligence levels, interoperability, and complex uses.
Artificial intelligence can optimize human-machine interaction via 'pre-training + fine adjustments' and solve the “communication barriers” when completing complex tasks in diverse scenarios, newspaper China Fund reported yesterday, citing an insider at a Chinese large language model vendor. This will bring new opportunities to the smart home industry, the person added.
