(Yicai) May 15 -- ZYNP, the world’s largest manufacturer of cylinder liners, has received a USD100 million order from US automotive giant General Motors.
ZYNP will supply cylinder liners to GM for one of its car models from the fourth quarter of this year until the end of 2033, the Zhengzhou-based company announced today, citing a deal the pair recently signed.
ZYNP’s plant in Henan province will supply the products this and next year but will be replaced by the firm’s Thai plant from 2026.
The deal, which is an additional order placed by GM on the basis of existing orders, will help ZYNP expand its supply scale overseas and increase brand awareness in international markets, ZYNP noted.
US and European companies, such as GM, Ford Motor, Chrysler, Cummins, John Deere, Caterpillar, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Cars, Scania, and FIAT, are among ZYNP’s main overseas customers.
ZYNP earned CNY1.8 billion (USD249.1 million) from the sale of 56.6 million cylinder liners last year, as the company’s operating revenue from this business accounted for nearly 62 percent of the total.
ZYNP’s shares [SHE: 002448] closed 0.9 percent up at CNY6.59 (91 US cents) in Shenzhen today, after earlier gaining as much as 4.9 percent when the deal was announced during the lunch break.
