(Yicai Global) Sept. 1 -- Xian Huaxi Information Intelligent Engineering Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese refrigeration equipment manufacturer Sichuan Yimikang Environmental Tech Co., won the bid for a USD91.22 million (CNY601 million) data center construction contract.

Xian Huaxi Information Intelligent Engineering signed a deal with Tenglong Liangjiang (Chongqing) Technology Ltd. yesterday. Tenglong Liangjiang plans to build a data center in the Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing city, and Xian Huaxi Information Intelligent Engineering will be the general contractor for this project, Yimikang said.

The two-phase buildout is set to be completed in May 2019. The data center will cover 40,000 square meters and house 5,000 equipment cabinets. The facility will have a high-end internet data center, a national shared data backup center and a virtual data center.

It is a cooperative project between Tenglong Liangjiang and the government of the Liangjiang New Area, aiming to offer quality cloud computing services for financial enterprises and internet companies at home and abroad.

The value of this agreement accounts for 61.75 percent of the company's annual turnover for last year. The contract marks the significant progress the group has made in the information data field and will help it play to its data center construction strengths in energy savings, environmental protection and intelligent management technologies, Yimikang said.
