(Yicai Global) Nov. 27 -- China's BOE Technology Group will diverge its strategy from displays to target the Internet of Things products, according to its chief.

BOE will make smart products and offer intelligent services for information interaction and healthcare, Chen Yanshun, chairman of the Beijing-based firm, said at a conference yesterday.

This year, BOE's IoT business has doubled in 12 segments such as medical and automotive ones from a year ago and the firm is looking to increasingly serve the sectors of connected vehicles, retail, finance, and industrial internet, said Chen.

Subway lines in 22 Chinese cities, as well as more than four-fifths of all high-speed railways in the country already use BOE's smart display solutions, Chen said, adding that the company also has overseas clients.

In the first half of this year, the company's revenue from intelligent interface products was CNY50.1 billion (USD7.2 billion). That of its IoT business was CNY7.5 and its medical device business tallied CNY663 million (USD94.3 million).
