Chinese Firm Publishes Two International Standards for PV Glass Testing Methods Chinese Firm Publishes Two International Standards for PV Glass Testing Methods

(Yicai Global) Sept. 8 -- China Building Material Test & Certification Group Co. [SHA:603060] (CTC) issued two International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards for photovoltaic glass testing methods that it developed. The move will help improve the global competitiveness of China's PV testing capabilities.

This is the first time that China led the formulation and publication of international standards for PV glass, the Beijing-based group said yesterday.

The two standards apply to test methods for haze distribution and transmittance and reflectance of PV glass.

China is the world's largest manufacturer of PV components and the biggest producer of PV glass, CTC said. The development of international standards will foster improvements to China's PV industry technology and will enhance the country's international influence in the industry, the firm said.

The IEC was founded in 1906 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It is responsible for the international standardization of electrical engineering.

CTC has two IEC standards and six ISO (International Organization for Standardization) ones.
