(Yicai Global) April 29 -- Tourism and transport firms were the winners as China’s stock markets closed mixed today, one day before the upcoming May Day holiday and following an announcement that the country will reopen its highway toll booths when the holiday is over.
The Shanghai Composite Index finished up 0.44 percent at 2,822.44, while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.12 percent to 10,514.17. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed on the Shenzhen market, fell just 0.01 percent to 2,030.48.
Farming, dairy and e-commerce shares were the biggest losers.
