(Yicai Global) April 24 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened mixed this morning with companies engaged in communications networks leading the way and construction and decoration stocks among the biggest losers.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.13 percent lower at 2,834.94, while the Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.01 percent to 10,565.09. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, started the day 0.15 percent stronger at 2,032.55.
