(Yicai Global) Nov. 24 -- Chinese mainland stock markets started the day on different trajectories with the automobile sector paving the way for those who rose.

The Shanghai Composite Index began 0.21 percent lower at 3,407.41. The Shenzhen Component Index started at 13,958.01, up 0.02 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, gained 0.13 percent to 2,689.80.

Carmakers edged up 2.4 percent while hydrogen fuel cell and electric car recharging firms collectively climbed 1.8 percent.
