(Yicai Global) Dec. 17 -- Chinese stock markets opened mixed this morning after making gains yesterday, with companies in the technical industries faring best.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.03 percent higher at 2,985.26, while the Shenzhen Component Index began 0.01 percent at 10,157.43. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, rose 0.15 percent to 1,782.99.19.

Shares in technical industry firms started the day 1 percent higher.
