(Yicai Global) March 11 -- China's mainland markets opened mixed today after the Shanghai Stock Exchange suffered its biggest fall in five months on Friday. Previously hot stocks continued to fall.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.03 percent lower at 2,969.08 points while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.66 percent higher at 9,425.8. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, kicked off 1.14 percent higher at 1,673.4.
China Securities [SHA:601066] and People's Insurance Company of China [SHA:601319], which were rated as sell last Friday due to gains in excess of the market level, opened 7 percent and 9 percent lower this morning, respectively.
