(Yicai Global) July 17 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened slightly lower today as investors remained cautious ahead of the launch of Shanghai's new Nasdaq-style Star Market next week.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.16 percent lower at 2,933.02, while the Shenzhen Component Index slid 0.1 percent to 9,274.34. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, started the day 0.06 percent weaker at 1,544.42.
