(Yicai Global) May 7 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland closed higher today despite wild fluctuations as investors struggled to determine how the market will pan out following yesterday's crash.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.7 percent at 2,926.39, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 1.63 percent higher at 9,089.46. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, ended up 0.62 percent at 1,504.16.
The three major stock benchmarks tumbled to two-month lows yesterday amid turmoil across the world's financial markets.
