(Yicai Global) Jan. 6 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened lower this morning as investors were weary to spend following the US's killing of Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani during an airstrike at Baghdad International Airport on Jan. 3.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.42 percent lower at 3,070.91, while the Shenzhen Component Index started down 0.53 percent at 10,599.41. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, started the day 0.57 percent weaker at 1,825.55.
Other Asian markets also opened lower, though crude and gold futures bucked the trend.
