(Yicai Global) June 19 -- Surging overseas stock markets last night ignited passion from investors after a wait-and-see approach in recent days. Shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen shares opened sharply higher.

The Shanghai Composite Index soared 1.87 percent to 2,944.12 at the opening, while the Shenzhen Component Index increased 2.81 percent to 9,051.85 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, skyrocketed 3.13 percent to 1,501.25.
