Chinese Shares Lost Ground After Opening Higher

(Yicai Global) June 19 -- As investors profited, China's stock markets lost some gains made at the opening this morning.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed up 1.5 percent at 2,933.64 for lunch, compared with 1.87 percent at the opening. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 2.25 percent to 9,051.85, retreated from 2.81 percent at the opening bell, and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, increased 2.01 percent to 1,485.01, after surging 3.13 percent at the opening.
