(Yicai Global) May 10 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland retreated after a strong opening with investors on alert for any possible outcome from the China-US trade talks.
The Shanghai Composite Index was up 1.5 percent at 2,893.82 going into the lunch break, after moving as much as 2.6 percent higher earlier. The Shenzhen Component Index was up 1.87 percent at 9,043.19, after increasing more than 3 percent earlier. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, was 1.95 percent higher at 1,498.07 after gained as much as 3.6 percent earlier.
