(Yicai Global) Oct. 9 -- China’s mainland stock markets opened up this morning after China’s eight-day National Day holiday, with photovoltaic stocks spearheading the charge.
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.38 percent to 3,262.61, while the Shenzhen Component Index climbed 1.97 percent to 13,161.36. The ChiNext index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, grew 2.25 percent to 2,632.59.
Many photovoltaic stocks surged to the 1- percent daily price ceiling this morning, including Csg Holding [SHE:000012], Jinko Power Technology [SHA:601778] and Eging Photovoltaic Technology [SHA:600537], as photovoltaic glass prices rose to a record high over the holiday on global supply issues.
The battery and electrical equipment sectors were also among the star performers.
