(Yicai Global) June 5 -- Chinese mainland shares squandered a strong morning start to close in the negative as the worldwide stock market rebound was still unable to buoy local investor confidence.
The Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.03 percent to 2,861.42 as the curtain fell, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.03 percent lower at 8,746.05 at the buzzer.
The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, closed down 0.35 percent at 1,451.18.
