(Yicai Global) June 18 -- Chinese stocks opened higher today and Huatai Securities [SHA:601688] received a bump after listing in the UK via the Shanghai-London Stock Connect program yesterday.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.12 percent higher at 2,891.09 while the Shenzhen Component Index was 0.06 percent higher at 8,785.77 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, opened 0.09 percent higher at 1,443.65. 

Huatai opened 0.72 percent higher at CNY19.59 (USD2.84).
