Chinese Stocks Open in a Jumble(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- China's benchmark stock indexes had a mixed, but mostly sour opening, as aviation equipment manufacturing shares led the gainers.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.15 percent lower at 3,315.67. The Nasdaq-style Star Market Board 50 Index slipped 0.10 percent to 1,466.80.
The Shenzhen Component Index stood at 13,272.71, down 0.14 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, edged up 0.08 percent to 2,624.83.
Aviation equipment manufacturing had risen over 4 percent as of 10.00 a.m. Key suppliers to China’s C919 large aircraft project Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry [SHA:600316] and Avic Aircraft [SHE:000768] soared to the 10 percent daily limit to stop trading at CNY41.13 (USD5.93) and CNY 26.11.
