(Yicai Global) Jan. 15 -- The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, was the only mainland benchmark to regain today's losses in the afternoon session as tech stocks bounced back from a sour beginning.
The ChiNext closed at 1,924.24, up 0.09 percent. The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.54 percent lower at 3,090.04 and the Shenzhen Component Index ended at 10,972.32, down 0.15 percent.
Chip firms were among the biggest gainers, with Jiangsu province-based semiconductor maker Wuxi Taiji Industry [SHA:600667] rising by the 10 percent limit to close a CNY9.19 (USD1.33) per share. Traditional sectors like metalworking, agriculture and coal and petroleum led losers.
