(Yicai Global) May 26 -- China's mainland stock markets extended their gains after a strong opening in the morning session with tech shares leading the way.

The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.71 percent to 2,837.88 by the lunch break. The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 1.51 percent to 10,752.28. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, rose 2.48 percent to 2,103.12.
