(Yicai Global) Feb. 20 -- The domestic exchange rate of the Chinese yuan has jumped against the US dollar to above 6.7200. 

The onshore spot rate opened at 6.7341, and then rapidly rose to the strongest of 6.7162, which is more than 400 basis points firmer than 6.7587 at the close yesterday.

The offshore spot exchange rate started the day flat at 6.7446, and then surged to the peak of 6.7154, nearly 300 basis points stronger than the previous closing price of 6.7446.
