CR Powers Targets Renewables for One-Quarter of Capacity 2020 CR Powers Targets Renewables for One-Quarter of Capacity 2020

(Yicai Global) July 24 -- China Resources Power, the third-largest Hong Kong-listed power generation company, estimates that over one-quarter of its capacity will come from renewable sources by 2020.

CR Power's green energy hit a new high last year, increasing 3.3 percentage points annually to reach 17.4 percent of total capacity on the back of new wind power installations, the Hong Kong-based firm said in a statement to mark the release of its most recent sustainability report.

The company has also strictly controlled coal-fired power investment, with no new units put into operation last year.

Many other major Chinese power generators such as Huaneng Group, Datang Group, Guodian Group, Huadian Group and State Power Investment have also looked to boost their presence in the clean energy sector in recent years.
