Didi Chuxing Launches ‘One Click’ Car-Hailing App, Phone Hotline for the Elderly Didi Chuxing Launches ‘One Click’ Car-Hailing App, Phone Hotline for the Elderly

(Yicai Global) Jan. 22 -- Didi Chuxing has released a one-click mini app and will open a conventional telephone hotline to help elderly people use its services, the Chinese ride-hailing giant said today.

The Didi Care mini app started trials nationwide today and the hotline should start to be available in some cities from the end of the month, the Beijing-based firm said on its WeChat account.

Senior citizens’ difficulty in using modern technology has raised concern in China. The country’s cabinet called in November last year for solutions to make getting from place to place, buying products and other online domains more convenient for them.

Most users of car-hailing services are young people, a driver told Yicai Global. There are very few old people who know how to use these apps, and when there is an elderly passenger, the order was usually placed by his or her children.

Senior citizens should ask relatives, friends or community workers to help them register for the mini app, Didi Chuxing said. Up to 10 addresses can be inputted for them, then all they need to do is choose an address and ask for a taxi in one click.
