(Yicai Global) July 11 -- Didi Chuxing, a leading online car-hailing platform operated by Beijing Xiaoju Keji, has struck a deal to cooperate with Hannover, Germany-based auto parts behemoth Continental. The pair will board together on intelligent travel to improve the customer experience.

Continental's advanced Internet of Vehicles technologies and its rich practice in design and engineering research and development will complement Didi Chuxing's practical experience in smart travel. The two will collaborate on intelligent networked vehicles and various customized new-energy vehicle projects, Didi Chuxing said yesterday on its website.

New energy, sharing and intelligence have become the main trends in the travel service sector, said Yang Jun, Didi Chuxing's vice president. Through its accumulated background in big data and artificial intelligence, the company will team with Continental to advance technology and drive innovation in auto hardware, systems, and applications.

The cooperation is part of Didi Chuxing's D-Alliance program. The firm established this coalition jointly with 31 enterprises in the auto industry chain in April to build an open platform to develop integrated ride-sharing solutions. Members of this alliance include famous companies at home and abroad like Volkswagen, Bosch and BYD.

Didi Chuxing hopes its services cover two billion users worldwide in the next decade, furnishing 50 percent of users' mobility demands and popularizing over 10 million shared NEVs, said Cheng Wei, founder and board chairman of Didi Chuxing, at the inception of the D-Alliance.
