(Yicai Global) Aug. 17 -- Some 75 tourist attractions in Shanghai will offer discounts during the city's tourism festival this year, with Disneyland joining the list for the first time.

The Shanghai Tourism Festival, which will run from Sept. 15 through Oct. 6 this year, will include 74 different activities for attendees, Xinmin Evening News reported after attending a work conference held by the municipal government.

Many local attractions now offer discounts during the event, and on China Tourism Day on May 19, each year. Many this year will offer half off to those buying tickets from Sept. 15 through Sept. 21, the report added. Huangpu River cruises are another new addition to the list of those offering discounts.

The opening parade will feature performance groups from 26 countries and regions, including Ecuador and Peru for the first time, while the closing ceremony will be held at Disneyland with 25 floats taking part. Newcomers at the closing ceremony include local groups from the European Union, Canada, Taiwan, Yunnan province and Haichang Ocean Park.
