Dragon Pipe Manufacturing Wins Contract to Develop Mobile Game Adapted From Hit TV Drama Dragon Pipe Manufacturing Wins Contract to Develop Mobile Game Adapted From Hit TV Drama

(Yicai Global) June 23 -- Zhejiang Dragon Pipe Manufacturing Co. [SHE:002619] will partner with a Beijing internet culture development firm that owns the copyright to the Once Upon a Time online game adapted from a popular Chinese novel of the same title.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary has contracted with Beijing Spring Interactive Entertainment Technology Co. to develop and distribute under license a series of video games based on the novel Once Upon a Time, the company based in China's southeastern Zhejiang province announced yesterday. The authorization is global and lasts three years.

The announcement omitted the deal's financial details.

The move will help Dragon Pipe Manufacturing expand its portfolio of high-quality intellectual property, increase its share of and influence on the mobile game market, and create a new profit growth driver.

Once Upon a Time is a popular novel based on ancient Chinese mythology. Its television adaptation starring hot pop idols was aired on major Chinese TV stations earlier this year, and has been very popular among young viewers.

Concrete pipe supply used to form Dragon Pipe Manufacturing's core business, but the company underwent a business transformation after buying several online game and video businesses in recent years. Mobile games made up 60.1 percent of its total revenue last year, and thus replaced concrete pipes as the company's core business.
