Faraday Future Advances With New Director, Jia's Reorganization Vote, Insider Says(Yicai Global) April 23 -- Faraday Future has appointed a former Nevada lieutenant governor to its board of directors while its Chinese founder Jia Yueting's personal bankruptcy process is coming along smoothly, according to an insider.
Brian Krolicki has been named an independent director at the US electric vehicle company, the Securities Times reported, citing an insider.
Jia's debt reorganization proposal has made progress as most of the involved large investment banks have approved the plan, the person added. The embattled entrepreneur's draft moved to the creditor voting stage on March 31.
If the vote is passed, the reorganization will be confirmed in a court in California on May 21, Zhang Miao, a lawyer who represents Jia's debt handling team, said earlier. After that, a dedicated trust would take over Jia's Faraday Future assets, Zhang added.
Despite the ex-chief executive's financial troubles, the company has had some tailwinds lately. Gao Mengxiong, sales director of Maserati China, joined the California-headquartered carmaker this week as its China chief marketing officer, the Securities Times report added.
Moreover, earlier this month, Faraday Future got USD9.2 million in cash from the US Paycheck Protection Program program aimed at helping businesses survive the coronavirus epidemic.
