(Yicai Global) Sept. 13 -- Hangzhou Changjiang Automobile Co., a subsidiary of FDG Electric Vehicles Ltd. [HK:0726], has shipped out its inaugural batch of EVs to the US, and all of them are high-end V8070 freight trucks, Securities Daily reported yesterday.
It is the first US-bound shipment of Changjiang products, as well as China's first mass export of high-end all-electric freight vehicles to the world's largest economy. The company is working to fill follow-up orders placed by American clients.
The V8070 trucks are on their way to end users in the States. The firm set up a dedicated team and worked out a production plan immediately after receiving the first order. The initial shipment arrived at the Ningbo port on Saturday.
The automobile manufacturer made the trucks to American clients' specifications, following strict vehicle development management procedures, a source at Changjiang Automobile said. The firm spent 12 months testing and verifying the complete vehicle system according to US product certification criteria that involved 47 American standard certifications covering component design verification, system performance and road tests. The model completed five of the certifications in the US. China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), the country's most authoritative auto certifier, carried out 15 of the test with on-site guidance from American specialists.
