(Yicai Global) May 19 -- China's mainland stock markets fluctuated in today’s morning session after opening strong, but ultimately closed lower going into lunch.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended the morning 0.53 percent higher at 2,890.56, while the Shenzhen Component Index was at 10,997.56, up 0.7 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, finished the early session up 0.87 percent at 2,133.17.

Tourism agencies and hotel operators led the market, rising over 3 percent on average. Huatian Hotel Group [SHE:000428], one of the major hoteliers in central China, ended the morning up 4.37 percent at CNY3.34 (47 US cents).
