(Yicai Global) Sept. 1 -- Hong Kong game developer Gameone Holdings Ltd. [HKG:8282] has penned a deal with developer Changyou.com Ltd. [NASDAQ:CYOU] to operate one of its role-playing games in Hong Kong and Macao.

The deal allows Gameone to run Demi-Gods & Semi-Devils, a martial-arts RPG based on a novel of the same name by Jin Yong, who authorized the game, the buyer said on Aug. 31. It plans to promote the game in the fourth quarter of this year.

Shenzhen Tencent Computer System Co., owned by web giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700], published Demi-Gods & Semi-Devils, which was released on July 5, 2017. The game uses the Unity5 engine for realistic 3D visual effects, the statement said.

The recent release is actually an adaptation of a martial arts RPG, based on the same book, originally published by Changyou.com in 2007.

Gameone did not disclose the price they paid for the rights to operate the game.
