(Yicai Global) Dec. 30 -- GRG Banking Equipment will supply automated teller machines with bio-identification capabilities to Bangkok, Thailand-based Government Savings Bank, which will cost CNY155 million (USD22.2 million) at a minimum.

Guangzhou-based GRG's shares [SHE:002152] closed up 4.03 percent at CNY9.80 (USD1.40) at lunchtime on the news after going as high as CNY9.94 in mid-morning.

The company's wholly-owned unit has in hand a successful bid notice from GSB's agent, Bangkok-based technology services provider SVOA Public, GRG said in a Dec. 27 statement, but which provided no other details.

The company independently developed this next-generation smart financial device, which is fitted with biometric technologies such as a face-scanner and fingerprint modules. It will also supply state-run GSB with an intelligent monitoring and management system and an overall smart solution, including network security, per the statement.

The deal will help expand GRG's overseas market and swell its market share in smart banking outlets, per the statement.

GRG, which provides operational services, Big Data solutions, and various intelligent terminals for banks and others, is a well-known AI services provider in China, per the company's website.
