(Yicai Global) March 30 -- Harbin Electric International Co. under Harbin Electric Corp. has signed a general contract and a five-year operation and maintenance agreement for a coal-fired power project with a subsidiary of Pakistan Electric Power Co. yesterday, chinanews.com reported.

China's first power-generation equipment maker Harbin Electric Corp. is a leader in the country's power-generation equipment industry. Major state-backed project contractor Harbin Electric International Co. was among the first group of Chinese companies to go global, and its contracted works in Pakistan comprise around 20 percent of the country's total installed capacity.

This large coal-fired thermal power project features a total installed capacity of 1,320 Megawatts, consisting of two sets of 660MW units. The contract covers the supply, design, civil engineering, installation, debugging, trial operation, testing, training, and operation and maintenance of the main and auxiliary equipment.
