(Yicai Global) Oct. 29 -- Himalaya Airlines, a Chinese-Nepalese aviation firm, has launched direct flights between Beijing's new Daxing International Airport and Kathmandu while preparing to kick off flights to Guizhou's Guiyang and Hunan's Changsha next month.

Flights from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport to Beijing will take off three times per week and the route is expected to transport 40,000 Chinese tourists per year, China Youth Daily reported, citing Zhou Enyong, president of the Kathmandu-based aviation firm. Himalaya Airlines will also seek to start flying to Shenzhen and Chongqing later.

Nepal's Yeti World Investment has a 51 percent stake in Himalaya Airlines while China's state-owned Tibet Civil Aviation Development and Investment owns the remainder.
