(Yicai Global) July 5 -- Hitachi China, the China subsidiary of Japan's Hitachi Ltd. [TYO:6501] and Alibaba Cloud have formed a partnership, the two said yesterday.
Hitachi will use Alibaba Cloud's cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI), and the duo will together popularize applied cloud computing and AI in manufacturing, finance, automobiles and Internet of Things (IoT).
Alibaba Cloud is replete with a full range of infrastructure coverage and abundant cloud services worldwide. The cooperation will help Hitachi build a more stable, secure and efficient IT platform. The hope is also that the pair will ply varied future global cooperation, Kenichi Kokubo, chief executive for China said at the signing ceremony.
After Hitachi and Alibaba Cloud partnership takes shape, it will combine the advantages of both sides to provide excellent solutions based on Alibaba Cloud architecture for Hitachi customers and partners. On this basis, the two sides are also expected to collaborate to popularize Enterprise Cloud services worldwide through IoT, AI and other advanced technologies.
Hitachi has a wealth of experience and a wide range of services in IT solutions and industry services, software development and industry information, and is especially cutting edge in manufacturing, finance and digital parks.
Alibaba Cloud is the cloud computing technology and service provider of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province-based Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE:BABA). At present, Alibaba Cloud has set up dozens of Apsara-based data centers worldwide, covering 14 regions across the globe and including the US (East and West Coasts), Europe, the Middle East, Singapore and Japan. Alibaba Cloud will also set up data centers in India, Indonesia and Malaysia, using the Apsara-based technology platform developed by Alibaba to connect millions of servers worldwide into a global network of cloud computing.
