(Yicai Global) Nov. 15 -- Chinese communications giant Huawei Technologies has penned a deal with Telecom Italia, the country's largest telecoms operator by revenue, to provide wide area network solutions.
The two signed the deal at the 2018 Huawei Eco-Connect Europe event held in Rome yesterday, the Shenzhen-based firm said on its Wechat account.
Huawei will help Telecom Italia develop an evolving network solution for business users and integrate it with the Rome-based firm's cloud infrastructure. The service will allow customers to manage their networks through a single console with technical support and expertise coming from the company's National Assistance Center.
The software-defined networking in a wide area network technology enables Telecom Italia to balance and optimize applications across multiple virtual private lines and networks covering multiple sites and data centers, thus improving the flexibility of high-performance and high-security multiprotocol label switching networks.
