Hytera Communications Sets Up Japanese Subsidiary to Develop Telecoms Equipment(Yicai Global) Aug. 28 -- Hytera Communications Corp. [SHE:002583], a Guangdong-based communications equipment maker, will set up a subsidiary in Japan to develop its wireless equipment business there.
The firm plans to set up a wholly-owned unit using its own funds, with Hytera Communications Hong Kong Co. as its investment vessel. The subsidiary will have registered capital of JPY16 million (USD150,000) and will engage in the development, production and sale of electronic products, the parent company said on Aug. 27.
Hytera has already set up marketing teams in the US, Japan and other regions for its wireless communications equipment business, including automotive electronics and optical communications. Local companies have a large chunk of the market in Japan, and the new company will help establish long-term relationships with customers, the firm said.
Overseas markets are an important source of revenue for Hytera. In the first half of this year, its overseas sales were USD158.7 million, making up 57.4 percent of overall revenue.
