(Yicai) Feb. 8 -- Many popular scenic spots in China, including Nianhua Bay and Universal Beijing Resort, have put out decorations inspired by the forthcoming Year of the Dragon.

Searches for "where to spend the lunar new year" have surged 350 percent in the past week and are still increasing with Chinese New Year set to start on Feb. 10, data from travel site Mafengwo showed. 

An expensive, custom-made Lotus Dragon lantern is on view at Nianhua Bay, with the modern Buddhist resort's holiday events themed around the lantern and traditional culture. 

A dragon lantern ‘breathes fire’ around the Universal Studios' globe during the US entertainment company’s CNY celebrations at Universal Beijing Resort, which run through March 10.

A dragon ice sculpture at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, which organized an ice sculpture show with some of the best sculptors from Harbin, a city in northern China famous for its ice and snow tourism.
