(Yicai) July 9 -- Foreign delegates to the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Civilizations Dialogue in Beijing later this week have been visiting Shanghai first for an exclusive view of some of China's industrial achievements, including Tesla’s Gigafactory and Yangshan Port, the world's largest automated shipping container facility.

During their stay in Shanghai, the delegates expressed their admiration for China's rapid development and enthusiasm for expanding relationships in various multiple areas. 

The Tesla Gigafactory, located in the Lingang Special Area, a key testing ground for economic and trade policies within the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, began delivering cars in 2019 and accounts for around 51 percent of the US carmaker's global output. 

Opened in December 2017, Yangshan Port's Phase IV fully automated terminal can handle 6.3 million twenty-foot equivalent units a year, with 125 automated guided vehicles in operation.

The delegates have been arriving in Shanghai since July 7. They will head from there to the nation’s capital for the two-day Ministerial Meeting of the Global Civilizations Dialogue, which will kick off tomorrow. The event has attracted more than 600 participants from about 140 countries.
