(Yicai) June 3 -- The ABB Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile Formula E World Championship returned to Shanghai for the second year in a row.
Twenty-two drivers from 11 teams competed in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Shanghai E-Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit on June 1.
Formula E is the world's first all-electric FIA World Championship and the only sport certified with a net-zero carbon footprint since its inception. The inaugural race was held in Beijing in September 2014.
The new GEN3 Evo race cars, which debuted at the 2025 Shanghai E-Prix, can reach 322 kilometers per hour, with acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 1.86 seconds, about 30 percent faster than Formula 1 cars.
