(Yicai Global) Nov. 23 -- Integrated tumor treatment platform operator 3D Medicines Corp. said today that it has obtained USD100 million (CNY670 million) in strategic investments in a funding round that China's State-Owned Venture Capital Fund and ChinaEquity Group led, 36kr reported.

The Shanghai-based group had previously raked in hundreds of millions of yuan in four financing rounds.

The firm will mainly use the recent round of financing to expand its presence in the diagnostic automation equipment market and to promote the clinical application of its drugs. Established in December 2010, 3D Medicines belongs to AiTiSi Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co. It completed its first round and second financing rounds in 2012 and its third and fourth rounds in 2015.

It brought in CNY146 million in its fourth round, PEdaily reported without revealing the amounts it raised in other rounds. The company did not disclose its latest valuation following this round.

3D Medicines is mainly engaged in early tumor screening, accurate tumor diagnosis and precision drug development. As tumor immunotherapy has become a popular international tumor treatment, 3D Medicines' tumor drug development can quickly enter the tumor immunotherapy field by relying on its integrated medical treatment platform, said 3D Medicines Chief Executive Gong Zhaolong.

3D Medicines is the only medical company in China whose business scope ranges from tumor diagnosis to drug development, reports indicated. It has cooperated with more than 200 top-tier hospitals in China, benefiting over 10,000 patients. 3D Medicines' new tumor immunotherapy drug research project has entered a phase of synchronized clinical development in China, the US and Japan.
