(Yicai Global) March 16 -- Italia's Leonardo S.p.A., the world's largest commercial helicopter manufacturer, will showcase three new helicopter models at the first China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai in November.

Sino-US Intercontinental Helicopter Investment Co., the official Chinese dealer for Leonardo's products, inked the participation contract with China International Import Expo Bureau on March 16. Three helicopters of general configuration and emergency medical configuration to be exhibited by Leonardo will further enliven the smart and high-end equipment exhibition area.

Sino-US Intercontinental will exhibit medium-sized helicopters with an advanced avionics system and high international standard safety and powerful flight performance, as well as large cabin space and a comfortable mute system, said He Shuping, the company board chairman.

In addition, medium and light twin-engine helicopters with excellent high-temperature, high-altitude and strong dynamic performance and load capacity will also be on display. They are equipped with internationally-certified aeromedical equipment such as on-board medical stretchers, defibrillators, electrocardiogram monitors, and ventilators.

Founded in 1907, Leonardo has sold more than 50,000 helicopters worldwide. It serves more than 80 countries around the world, with its products widely used in business flights, emergency medical aid, offshore oil operations, air travel, air business express, police tasks, general operations and other missions, publicly available information shows.

Leonardo reached strategic cooperation with Sino-US Intercontinental last March. In addition to serving as the designated dealer of Leonardo, Sino-US Intercontinental has started to set up a site for local production of Leonardo helicopters since the second half of last year. The two sides will also jointly set up a helicopter flight training college to train outstanding pilots for China.

Sino-US Intercontinental has sold over 200 Leonardo helicopters in China and was awarded the title of "World's Best Dealer" by Leonardo last year.
