(Yicai Global) March 20 -- JD Finance, financial affiliate of China's e-commerce heavyweight JD.Com Inc., and Guangdong information technology service provider Digital China Information Service Co. teamed up to jointly introduce financial technology services for small- and medium-sized banks.

JD Finance and Digital China Financial Cloud Service Co., a subsidiary of the Digital China Information Service in which JD Finance holds a stake, held a press briefing today to introduce the system, technology news site TechWeb reported. The new system will support banks to introduce financial services in a short period of time, in most cases within three months.

Both sides also signed a contract with Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank, which will become the first customer of the new system. The bank was established in 2005 and developed from a rural credit cooperative, running many branches in Shenzhen, the southern Guangdong province.

Last February, JD Finance acquired 35 percent of Digital China Financial Cloud Service's equity from Digital China Information Service for CNY87.5 million (USD13.8 million). The two parties will continue their cooperation in the future, they added.

Established in 1993, Digital China Information Service is one of the earliest IT service providers in China. JD Finance provides financial services to more than 8 million businesses and 400 million consumers.
