(Yicai Global) Nov. 27 -- Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com Inc. [NASDAQ:JD] has denied media reports that the firm may impose dispatch surcharges on orders involving cross-regional logistics operations, technology media outlet TechWeb reported.
If consumers order a product on JD that is out of stock in local warehouses and needs to be transshipped from a warehouse in another region, a transshipment surcharge may be applied, an online media outlet previously reported.
When JD processes orders requiring transshipment between regions, it follows the usual logistics workflow without charging any extra fees, the firm's customer service team said. All charges are clearly displayed on the order page for customers before they pay.
