(Yicai Global) May 20 -- China's mainland stock markets opened mixed this morning after a strong performance yesterday, with lithium stocks leading the way as the two main board benchmarks started flat.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.07 percent lower at 2,896.47, while the Shenzhen Component Index started at 11,056.98, up 0.04 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, began up 0.24 percent at 2,149.29.

Lithium battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology [SHE:300750] started 4.7 percent higher at CNY150 (USD21.13) after China’s latest electric vehicle catalogue showed it would provide lithium iron phosphate batteries for Tesla Model 3s made in Shanghai.
